Retrieving Contacts from Phone or Email

This process is used to retrieve contacts from clients when first establishing an email sending system.

  1. Back up phone by whatever means you usually use to back up the device.
  2. Identify where your contacts are stored. It is probably either iCloud or Gmail. The easiest way to see where they are is by logging into iCloud or Google and seeing how many contacts you have in each. If you have some in both systems, then you need to follow these steps for each system.
  3. Log in to iCloud then follow these instructions
  4. Log in to Gmail then follow these instructions
  5. Once you have the file (excel, CSV, vCard, or any format you can get), email it to us at [email protected]
  6. Alternatively, if you are not sure how to access these accounts, you can use a great $3 app called ExportContact to retrieve them. Follow these instructions to get them off of your phone.
  7. The Accordus team will format your contacts in Excel, then send it back to you to review so you can identify anyone who should not be imported into MailChimp for the fundraising emails.
