My Role | Communication Coordinator

This is an explanation of the roles and responsibilities of all communication coordinators on our team.

JOB TITLE: Communications Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

SCOPE OF POSITION: The communications coordinator role is a part-time contractor position within the Accordus team. This team member fills critical functions for Accordus clients by managing the production of digital communication material including emails.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create informative and interesting press releases, press kits, newsletters, and related marketing materials via email marketing.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build customer loyalty programs, brand awareness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare detailed media activity reports I.e. open/click rates and reporting.
  • Learn and implement client preferences/colors/branding according to Accordus best-practice but also tailored to client needs and differentiate between clients Accordus manages (I.e. don’t make every email/design look the same for every client – just in case a donor supports more than one of our clients)
  • Plan and manage the design, content, and production of all digital marketing (email) materials.
  • Work with different departments to generate new ideas and strategies.
  • Supervise projects to guarantee all content is publication-ready.
  • Create communication and marketing strategies for new products, launches, events, and promotions.
  • Respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Work with client-systems
  • Import and export client data such as contact lists for segmenting and tagging 

QUALIFICATIONS:

All applicants must have:

  • Ability to manage other team members,
  • Strong time management and organizational skills,
  • Ability to work independently,
  • Be detail-oriented to ensure quality assurance is completed for all outgoing client emails
  • Technical editing skills
  • Willing and able to give feedback to design team to ensure no errors are present in all client-facing materials/emails
  • Ability to manage many tasks and projects simultaneously.

Experience with communications applications such as MailChimp and Constant Contact preferred.
