Watch this 6 minute video about how to make a great task for a designer to hopefully help improve this communication.

4 main elements of a great task for a designer:

  • Include exact dimensions/sizing of a project (if you need help figuring this out before assigning to the designer, reach out to Adrienne for ideas/guidance) Note: email graphics should be at minimum 600 pixels wide.
  • Provide wording/branding/phrases/text already written – writer should be working before the designer most of the time
  • Provide photos/images/graphics the client is interested in using, or at least a good direction of where to look
  • Ask for examples of work the client likes/ask Adrienne for example projects Accordus has done in the past from other clients
Additional Tips:
  1. Record the part of your client call where you talk with the client about their vision for a creative piece
  2. Use screen capture videos to explain what you need
  3. Link to photos, link to examples, include as much info as possible in your tasks
  4. If using the Teamwork tool of assigning tasks via email, please clean up the forwarded email to include everything needed. Oftentimes, the edits that are needed get lost in the transfer from emails to Teamwork tasks.
If you have any questions about this, reach out to Adrienne Robinson, our creative director.
